Rebecca Roy, PhD, MFT

Psychotherapist located in Studio City, CA & Brentwood, Los Angeles, CA

About Dr. Roy

Staying Sane in an Insane Industry”™ is a daunting task. If you are in the Industry, you face immense challenges to maintaining your mental health. It can be overwhelming and feel hopeless at times. Experience, education, and training on the part of the therapist is essential to helping you overcome them. This is your life we are talking about; isn’t it time to say ENOUGH to painful emotional patterns?

Please note that I am NOT A HEAD NODDER. I am kind and compassionate, but I am direct. I don’t shy away from opinions and I will ask you to take responsibility and be actively involved in your own healing. I am the best therapist to see if you are truly ready to embrace change. I see both Entertainment Industry people and am happy to see those outside of the Industry as well. I am not accepting insurance clients at this time.

I am a psychotherapist with both a Ph.D. and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology (MFT 45901). As a former coach of Olympic athletes, I come to my work from a unique, positive perspective. My experience of nearly 20 years of working with artists and athletes facilitating inner transformation as a route to outer success deeply informs my work. I also use evidence-based treatment approaches which are both solution-focused and long-lasting. They are designed to help you finally say “enough.”

I provide individual and couples psychotherapy.

Specializations include:

  • Creative Blocks; Artist’s Issues
  • Anxiety (OCD, General Anxiety, Panic Disorders)
  • Depression
  • Couples Counseling
  • Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
  • Personality Disorders
  • Co-occurring Disorders
  • Life Transitions
  • Executive/ Actors Coaching
  • Psychoanalysis

I look forward to helping you.
